Assault and battery by security personnel
I’ll start by saying if I could rate a Zero I would. To begin I have already logged a complaint on Presbyterians complaint platform, and logged a police report last night, I will be calling this morning as soon as this office opens up, and will be seeking legal counsel about suing Presbyterian hospital for assault and battery, as well as the mental anguish that this emergency room caused to my wife. With that, l will explain what happened. My wife was admitted at around 7:15 PM, 3/17/22. Upon initial admission everything seem to be going fine. Typical insurance exchange, signatures and such. The reason for the visit is my wife is experiencing severe upper and lower abdominal pain. With the current protocols I wasn’t allowed to stay with my wife. Not even being able to stay in the waiting area with her, which is fine. Once they did take her back I went back in and asked about going back with her. I was told that unless she has an individual room I wouldn’t be able to visit with her. At this point I went home and would wait until I was given the Okay to visit. So, at this point is when things go very bad. So, checking my phone records I get a call from what I thought would be my wife at 8:48 pm, to my surprise I’m greeted by a Rio Rancho Police officer telling me to come pick up my wife. As you can tell, I taken totally off guard, I can hear my wife in hysteria in the background. So, I get in my car and get to Rust Presbyterian emergency as quickly as possible. Now, upon arrival I find my wife beat and bruised severally, this being by Presbyterians Security personnel. Keep in mind, my wife is in slippers, sweat pants, a tank top, and is 5’3″ tall and 130 lbs. The reason I was given for this abuse was that she became combative and argumentative. Well, I don’t doubt it. But, this in no ways gives them the right to abuse my wife. Now, this is my wife’s side of the story. Once, she got back into a shared room, she was groining in pain and the other patience’s support person told her to shut the F up, in response she told him to F off. And this, is what generated them kicking my wife out of the emergency room. She tells me, out of frustration she pulled the IV from her arm and placed the tap on the security guards shirt. Which enraged this man. I will add at this point, I know, or saw the 2 security guards who assaulted my wife, funny thing they actually helped my wife upon entrance helping me get her a wheelchair to set in. And, to add, when I get their I ask about my wife’s coat which had her ID’s in it. I’m told that I took it home with me. This is an absolute LIE!!! I know that I left it with her because she get cold easily. What’s even worse, they wouldn’t even go look for it. So let’s do at little analysis of the situation, I don’t have dementia, and damn well know I left her coat with her. And, finally, my wife has bi-polar disorder. It’s quite apparent no de-escalation process was done. These security guards should be fired plan and simple. I have taken pictures of all the bruising all over her body, to add the mental anguish this hospital has now put her through. She’s now afraid to go another hospital to get care. You tell me how this hospital observed the Hippocratic oath of doctors? I am beside myself with anger, and absolute hatred for what you’ve done to my wife. You essentially stole my wife’s belongings, threw her out in the cold, told her that I abandoned her. I hope the wraith of God comes down on people like you. May karma come for you all!!
So, lets add some more reasons I will be suing you. I got her into a Pres NOW yesterday and they took a CT scan of her neck. Your security guard choked my 130lb wife so hard that they damaged C4-C5 of her spinal cord that she is being referred to a neurologists. If she ends up needing surgery and has some debilitation. So help me God, I’m coming for you with every legal possibility at my disposal.
I have filed a complaint with the NM Attorney General’s office today.
